Gerald Veasley's Unscripted Jam
For the first time, the final concert of the Boscov’s Berks Jazz Fest will be the annual Sunday Jazz Brunch in the DoubleTree by Hilton Grand Ballroom.
After making the decision, the fest programming committee knew the finale presentation had to be something very special for the fans.
The fest turned to Gerald Veasley, asking if he would consider producing a special Unscripted Jazz Jam to ensure the 10-day fest concludes with a fun, spontaneous, and high-energy concert.
Of course, Gerald eagerly accepted the challenge and immediately started assembling an amazing, all-star ensemble that promises to easily surpass the high-energy criteria and delivering a memorable fest experience for fans as they head home.
Joining Gerald will be Marcus Anderson, sax; Brian Simpson, keyboards; Eric Marienthal, sax; Bobby Lyle, keyboards; Julian Vaughn, bass; Rebecca Jade, vocals; Andre Lisa, guitar/vocals; Walter Christopher, vocals; Curtis McCain, percussion, Tim Hutson, drums; and, in keeping with jam tradition, surprise guests.
“All the musicians are really looking forward to performing during this brunch jam,” said Gerald. “Honored to be working with all these amazing artists to create an exciting finale for the fest.”
Before the concert, while fans enjoy brunch, host Michael Tozzi and Gerald will be joined on stage by Marcus Anderson for a relaxing, informal discussion about Marcus’ successful Jazz AND Coffee project and other jazz-related topics.
“Brunch, coffee and jazz; a great way to celebrate the final concert of the fest,” said Anderson. “As I said many times: ‘Music has never tasted so good -- and coffee has never sounded so relaxing.’ So come and 'Taste the music.'”
